For me starting a blog is like asking someone who is afraid of height to jump off a plane. Why? Because writing has always been my weakness. Throughout my student life, from elementary school to University, the only subject that I was worried about failing was essay writing. Maybe this is why I became an engineer. Not much writing was involved expect for technical writing which is much easier than creative writing.

So why did I start a blog?

1- I like challenge, and I like to see if I can be successful in something that I consider my weakness.

2 - Some of my friends, family, and people that I have met along the way have asked me how I started photography and how did I learn photography? So since my way was a bit different than the usual going to Art school or taking classes, I decided to share my story.

3 - Sometimes there is an interesting story behind a photo that I take which is usually too long for Instagram posts or Facebook. So here I can easily write as many words as I like.

Other than writing about my journey to become a landscape photographer, I am planning to write about some of the techniques I have used that have worked as well as the ones that haven’t worked.

The most challenging part of my journey and I think what sets me apart from most of other landscape photographers is that I am a single mom with a full time job. Even though I wanted to be like the landscape photographers and adventurers that I admire and follow, my life is nothing like them. Every time I go to these trips I have a guilt. I could be spending time with my daughter or use my vacation to be with her, except I am in Grand Canyon by myself. So I am planning to write about how I found that balance and how I manage these trips without guilt.

Other than these, I really don’t know what I am going to write about, but I am hoping subjects will come up and I am ready for this challenge!

I appreciate your support in this journey.
